Congratulations! You know that because you were homeschooled and probably you will be smarter than your peers in school! Poor them, lucky you!
I don't think you are too young to read a powerful book, do so in bite-size bits, digest it , practice it, and it will help you tremendously all your life, and expecially now in the new school experience.
Dale Carnegie is the author.
A brilliant and successful man.
The book is " How to Win Friends and Influence People".
You may want to read it more than once, and some parts more than others.
IF you do this, and if you practice what it says, you will amaze yourself, and others at how smart, cool, influential, and downright incredible you are !
I personally wish you all the best.
I grew up going to a new school, not only every year, but usually had to join in a school about a month after it began!
Military life was tough, but I loved all the new folks I got to meet, and it just made me understand that
strangers were just friends that I had not yet met!
Hang in there, and just pray for the ones that aren't yet appreciating the NEW guy on the block!

I have been to a new schools all my life one every 3 years and its super tough.
First you have to make sure you know what your doing make sure you know what classes your in what your locker number is. If you dont know this stuff then go to the main office on the first day of school as soon as you get there. They will give you all of that stuff.
Second be sure you have all of the supplies you need. Normally you dont know what to bring on the first day of school but I usually bring a few pencils, some folders, paper, and lunch money. lol
Third be nice to everyone you meet especially teachers. Make a good impression and they will like you. Just be your self to meet new friends if you dont have any.
I gave you the things that I brought on the first day normally you can find a school supply list in wal-mart or something like that Kmart maybe.
Good Luck in 8th grade im going to be a freshman ;)

When I was in the middle of the 5th grade, my parents moved me 500 miles away from a place I had lived almost my whole life. I know that your situation is not quite like mine, but it is not the end of the world. Know that you WILL NOT be the only new kid. Plenty of kids move during the summer vacation. Tips for fitting in -
1. Be FRIENDLY! If kids see that you are approachable they will come up and talk to you.
2. Open up! Even if you are naturally shy, try to talk to everyone. Even if it's just saying 'hello' or asking 'whose class are you in?' are starts. Once they see how friendly you areThey will want to start talking to you.
Good luck and hope this helped!

My son and I moved to a different state when he was eleven and it was hard on him at first. First, be yourself. Second, join at least one school club. Make friends with individuals and not just to be in a particular group. If I were your Mom I would keep homeschooling you, or at least go with a private school.
If you live in the suburbs, it may not be as much of a culture shock. But, as long as you carry yourself with self respect, hang back and don't run after anyone's friendship, you will become respected and that is what is important wherever you are. Be true to yourself.
Join in on sports if you are interested in one. Do your homework and be prepared for class so that you don't look bad in front of the other kids. Kids don't have respect for someone who comes to class unprepared. They think you are a jerk.
Good luck and it may be hard at first; but, eventually, you will find your place.
