hey love. loving Kobe yet?

Current NBA players: they are pissed off about the calls made against them that were horrible calls by Donaghy

Fans: disgusted, since they now dont know whether they were watching a fair game or a fixed one. Q ratings will be low next season.
officials and ppl in charge of the nba including david stern: clueless, and now they will have to work hard to protect and preserve the image of the league.

current referees: angered, and scared of how they will be treated by the players and the fans, and a possible FBI probe.
and other sports in general... like MLB and NFL

other sports have their own problems to deal with, MLB with Barry Bond issue and roids, and NFL with Vick

is this for your college?

Current referees will 'be under the microscope' i.e. be watched all the time now by the NBA and David Stern will be too, but it will be by the fans. It will make everybody wonder if this has ever happened before, and some people will be going back looking at film and stuff. I myself ask that question now too. I watch NBA games a lot, and me personally I'm just disappointed that it happened.

In the NFL it's easier to see a total b.s. call, and ref's have been called out before in the NFL when they screw up. Sometimes it gets by, such as the Redskins vs. Dolphins in their b.s. undefeated season where a Redskin player (I don't remember who) got called out of bound when he was about 5 feet away from the side line, but stuff like that is rarely tolerated anymore.

I kind of see baseball as the same way. I mean if a pitch goes in the dirt, or 5 feet off of the plate it would be kind of obvious if called a strike. However, after saying that I saw a game just last week with several missed calls with people being called safe when they were clearly out. If I remember correctly they still lost though.

It definitely is not the only time it has happened in a sport though.

The story is only several days old, so it is very hard to know how it's going to play out, especially if the former ref is going to be implicating other officials and players when he talks with federal law enforcement. And, he has yet to be charged with any crime.

his fixing games might have changed an important part of basketball. For example the spurs-sonics series. the sonics may have won if he didnt make the bad call and the spurs wouldnt have won the championship that year. players may hav elost points of his bad calling. this guy goes into retirement and weeks later we learn he was fixing games. this man should be fined and spend a year or two up in the pent

The effect is going to be every call an official make people going to think about that ref.
