before he took office? (he also signed over other companies stock options)
Do any liberals realize, that when he retired, he bought an insurance policy on his stock options, so they would remain the same (would not go down, NOR UP) no matter what the future held for halliburton?

no YOU are missing the point! He bought the insurance at retirement, guaranteeing the amount of the stock options to remain the SAME! NOT INCREASE NOR DECREASE. And THEN HE GAVE IT ALL TO CHARITY!!!!
WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND?

JEZUS PEOPLE! try editing the info on the pres or vice pres, you can't do it. I knew this information 6 years ago. I give you a simple link you can read, and you claim it isn't a good enough link. LOOK IT UP, THE INFO IS THERE, EVEN IF IT IS BURIED BY THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA.

chance- 2 points, 1, yes, it is illegal, but the three other stocks he did the same thing with were not required. 2. explain that to the liberals who claim he is getting rich off the war

Yeah...President Frankenstein Cheney
has nothing to do with Halliburton's exclusive
contract in Iraq...

And Hillary kept her Halliburton and Exxon stock until 3 weeks ago.....Funny, no one ever gets upset with that.
Truth Be Told....As did Gates, Buffet, and Soros. Well, a Charitable Foudation. Same Pricipal. You you guys give them Saint Hood.
Incedentally, a CRT DOES Benefit the Charity. Perhaps YOU need to do a little Research.

He had to do that, or something similiar. When you enter government service they give you briefings on how it is illegal to profit from policy decisions that you have knowledge of or power over. If I know for example my agency is about to use a certain contractor, it would be illegal for me to buy stock in that company. The VP falls under these same rules, as do all federal (and most state and local) employees.
==Edit==
I'm not saying his contributions weren't heartfelt and sincere, but it's not like the man won't have a spot waiting for him when he gets out of office. His speaking fees alone will likely run in the low millions. The war doesn't have to enrich him directly, it just has to enrich his allies who will have a warm seat waiting for him in a year and a half.

The also are obviously not aware that Halliburton no longer has any involvement in Iraq and afganistan. The company now handling all of the logistics in the middle east split off of halliburton but is a completely seperate entity. It is not controlled by halliburton at all. But never let it be said that a liberal let facts get in the way of their arguments.

You are missing something...
"However, before entering office in 2001, Cheney bought an insurance policy that guaranteed a fixed amount of deferred payments from Halliburton each year for five years so that the payments would not depend on the company's fortunes."
Whether they are fixed payments or not, how can you still support our Vice President making money off the war?
Cheney: "I have no financial interest in Halliburton of any kind and haven't had now for over three years."
Uh, someone is lying? This does not compute.
Read this slowly: Halliburton is making their money in Iraq. Cheney fixed it so that he would be getting "fixed deferred payments." Hence, he is receiving this allowance from money being made off the war in Iraq. That logic is clear, no?

Did you sell you're soul to cheney for some reason? Trying ot make him look good won't get it back. First you post faulty information about his charitable contributions and now this. I realize you thinnk he did this, but it's not true, if it were where would he get all this pretend money you say he's donating to charity? The vp pays about 160k a year.

Meh. That won't stop the hate.
Even when the guys helps charity out, there will still be claims of greed.
Besides, that whole "War for Oil" argument gets completely debunked. How embarassing would THAT be?

Wow! Another question from you indicating you know absolutely NOTHING about CRT's. Putting money into a CRT benefits CHENEY, not charity. Here's an idea. Why not try doing a little research before embarrassing yourself further on this issue....

Why does that matter, he still has an interest in Haliburton. That is like turning over the energy policy over to the energy businesses, or like turning over the ecological policies over to the oil companies. Bad example, bush jr did that.
