okay i have 2 inside cats and we keep them inside becuase every cat we've gotten has gotten run over and iam really scared becuase i guess i didnt close the door all the way and they both got out, and ones sick and the otherones not great at defending himself...so i heard this scary *** noise outside and my brother heard it also, but i feel sooooooooooooooooo sooooossssoooooo guilt about it, what should i do? they've been outside before but still, i am really scared how do i stop this guilty feeling

i would look for them only there are cyoties, possoms, , and skunks outside.... which is why i am scared

nature honey...it is all a part of nature...nothing you can do about it...so why feel guilty...if you really want to know a cat would rather die and be outside than live and be inside...they are natural animals, and your feeling guilty is not going to do anything but make you feel sick....let life have its own...love them when you have them, protect them when you can and leave the rest to nature...thats all we can do in this life...nothing to feel guilty about...

It would be less scary to face a skunk at your door than know that your cat was okay at that point but got eaten by a coyote later because you were too scared to call them in. Stand at the door and shake a box of cat biscuits. They'll come running.

I just hope they aren't declawed. I'm a dog owner, but my friends get cats and declaw them, swearing they never go out. It always bothered me, that if they did get out they wouldn't have claws to defend themselves. Frankly, I think they need to go out occasionally, just so they know where the heck they live, so if they got out accidently, they could find their way back! Years ago, when I had a cat, it ran off to tomcat around, I was sad it didn't come back. My other cat later in life, got run over. SO I stopped getting cats. BUT that's no answer to a cat lover. I think I would feel the way you do about wanting to keep them in, to keep them safe, but darn, how would you like to never see the outdoors? It would be worse than being in jail. If your poor kitties don't make it home, console yourself with the fact, that at least they got to see the outdoors. But they will probably come home, animals are smart. Hang in there, and don't beat yourself up too much. It's a hard call to make.

You shouldn't feel too guilty since it was not intentional. However, being a cat lover myself, I can understand your feelings. Just keep them in from now on, and give them a lot of TLC. The cats will forgive you, but you have to forgive yourself. Keep the door closed and keep the poor kitties inside. Indoor cats live a lot longer than their outdoor pals, and are usually healthier. Take the sick one to a vet.

The noise you heard was perhaps your cat matting. Your cat will be fine don't worry!
