I am going to be a sophomore this upcoming school year so that means another marching band season is going to start. Last year which was my first year in band I really hated summer band because its 8 hours of drills in the hot sun from Monday to Friday for 3 weeks before school starts. I really hated it that I only went 2 days and stayed home for the remaining 2 weeks. I started to stay for marching band practices as soon as school started and continued throughout the marching season succeeding really well. I actually liked marching band and hoped the season never ended. I like every part of it except summer band. The summer band for this upcoming season starts this Monday July 30, 2007. I am really thinking about if I should go to summer band or just stay home like last year. I know I am going to be real behind in the drills like last year but after 2 weeks I got up to date. Please help me should I go or not.

i know how u feel. i always messed up. especially doing the drills. i hate those. my band camp thingy start on monday july 30th too, and im gonna be a sophmore too lol. i think you should go because you dont want to look stupid when the incomimg freshmen come. if u dont go, ur going to have to learn drill and commands and all that stuff with FRESHMEN. i would sure hate that. so yeah go. plus u get to see you friends more. thats one reason i like to go.

I did it for two summers... and then quit marching band. It was taken over by the Drum & Bugle Corps types and was no longer fun.

I joined choir for my Senior Year
