Goldfish are not small fish by any stretch of the imagination. They will get almost 2 feet long (60 cm) and require tanks that are about 50 U.S. gallons. If you want the Goldfish to live, find a friend who has a large pond. If they will take the fish, they will survive longer than if you were to keep them and permanently stunt their growth. Please do the right thing.

I have a cat and goldfish -- if you get an aquarium as they need, there is no way for your cat to get to them.
What size is a medium tank? You need at least a 40 gallon for that many goldfish. But if theyre small you still have time. I dont know cm, but that tank sounds smaller than a 10 gallon, which means you will have to clean it constantly and it wont last long. Good luck, goldfish can be very cool and live a long time in the right conditions.

Do you have some drawn water (such as rainwater) outdoors or distilled water in jugs by any chance? Chlorinated water will kill the fish but they can survive in "dirty" water 'till tomorrow. Hopefully, you can purchase a de-chlorinating agent then. The more fish and the bigger the fish, the more ammonia produced in the water and ammonia, too, is a big fish killer. You might want to pick up an ammonia testing kit to periodically check the water. Such products as Nitrazorb® and AmQuel-Plus will not only remove the chlorine from tap water but also ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, and chloramine.
P.S.--It reads as if the tank you have is too small for four growing fish.

im not sure about the tank but the fish will be fine until tomorrw, set out 2 large amounts of water and let it sit overnight, then put the fish in one of the water things, then in the morning clean there aqurium and use the other left over water to put into the tank, then put the fish back into there aqurium...Now u have a clean tank and happy fish!

The fish will most likely be fine until you can get to the store to buy the water conditioner. If you have some distilled water that will work well until you can get to the store. A good rule of thumb is 1 gallon of water for each inch of fish. If you decide to keep the fish I would suggest a 10 gallon tank. You can pick one up at Wal-Mart with most of the accessories for about $30.

you should make sure the tank has a filter because goldfish are used to filtered water. you can also go to your local petsmart and see what kind of information they give you. Good Luck !!!
