About 10 hours and 45 minutes. Stayed up all night. Overall, a great ending to a great series.
I didn't like everything about it; I was especially unhappy about one of my favorite characters dying, and it has less humor than the previous books; but its tone and tragedies were probably appropriate for the story this needed to be, as everything was brought to a final resolution. It didn't turn out completely the way I expected, but I was right about some things. It seemed a bit boggy in the beginning, but all-in-all an epic ending to an epic story.
J.K. Rowling is a very gifted story-teller. She really makes you care about the characters and the world she has created in her stories.
I also like the morality and messages of her stories: the friendships, humor, and heroism; the multi-dimensional aspect of many of the characters (for example: James, Snape, and Dumbledore) and their relationships; the priority Harry gives to preserving life when fighting his enemies; and the message of valuing those whom some consider insignificant or unworthy.
I also like the message that power sought for oneself to serve oneself and control others is ultimately destructive, but power used in self-sacrificing love to serve others is an overwhelmingly powerful force for good.

I got the book at 12:02 am Saturday and finished it 1:35 am. Sunday. I did sleep and eat, go for a run, play with my kids in the middle of the day but I just had to finish it. Such a good read!

I read it in about 8 hours and that includes the time that it took for me to go to Walmart and buy another book. Every time I set it down for even a second my two children were grabbing it and reading it!

I took me about 7 hours . I just could not put it down.
It was one of the best books of the series. I thought i would not like a happily ever after ending But it worked very well.

I read it in about 10 hours. It was amazing! I honestly thought Harry should have died, but the ending was really well written.
