I was given a small formica countertop and would like to use it outside. Is that possible?

Depends upon type of adhesive and type of hardboard underneath. The formica is fairly weatherproof.

The Formica will stand up but the wood beneth will not. Esp' if its particle wood. It'll hold out for a year or so.
Meanwhile, I do know someone that laminated marine grade plywood with white Formica for a project on their boat. It is in it's 5 year and still holding up like the day he put it in. It looks very good and replaces rotted wood laminate. He is going to replace this with a plastic product called King Starboard this winter... it is very good stuff and can be pruchased at marine stores. You could use this with no problem for as long as you will be alive.

No. No matter what kind of glue you use. The fiber board underneath will start to swell up and the formica will warp. I am in the remodeling business, so I know about these things. I would recomend concrete or slate.
