You can file a quit claim deed to remove yourself from any ownership interest in the property.

That being said, why on earth would you WANT to do this ? If you are thinking that this will relieve you of any financial obligation concerning a mortgage, do NOT do it. Filing a quit claim deed to remove yourself from the deed only removes you from ownership interest. You STILL remain liable for the mortgage until it is refinanced without your name.

You can quit claim your name off...but in the process, you would also be waiving your right to any equity in the property.

If there is a mortgage on the property, it does not remove you from that obligation...so if your name is on a mortgage, do NOT waive your rights to the property.

you would have to get a lawyer to revise the paperwork; BUT you might have to get (your ex's) consent (not sure), as he (ex) might not be able to do same w/o yours)
