excellent question. Because the soul (That's us) is situated within the core of the heart and then permeates the body. So when the heart is transplanted the soul then must come into that heart otherwise they will die. Now if the other soul that use to reside in that heart is still hovering, there may be some problems like coming in and out of that heart and body. Also the blood from that heart is still there and ones consciousness may change somewhat. Experiencing some of the likes dislikes and desires of the other person who use to own the heart. So you may have some changes but depending if you are a more dominant personality you will override those other persons qualities. Tricky situation. Also there is a karmic bond between that person with any transplant. That person probably owed you their past life of if not, now you owe them in the next life. Personally I would rather leave this mortal body and Go Home . For info on the science of the Soul read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhuada tells all about the true self. asitis.com you can read on line.

All of the things that I experience every day of my life act to change the person I am on a constant basis. A different organ in my body would be just one more change.

Of course you'll be the same person. The only thing different will be the heart. Everything else will be intact. It's the same as if you had your appendix out. You'd be the same person, minus one appendix.

Your body is in a constant state of change. Cells all over your body die and others take their place every day. I don't think you'd be a different person per se
