Your skull houses three connected sections that have evolved collectively to form our present day brain.
The first section to develop was the brainstem and cerebellum, which evolved up to 500 million years ago in other creatures.
The second section that is layered on top of the brainstem and cerebellum is the mid-brain which evolved in mammals up to 300 million years ago.
During the last 3 million years the 3rd section, the new brain (cerebral cortex or neo cortex), wrapped itself around the midbrain and the brainstem and cerebellum. This is why the brain has folds.
The frontal lobes of the new brain are where the mind resides.
Scientists have found evidence that the frontal lobes are at least partially responsible for processing impulse control, language production, judgement, problem solving, memory, sexual behavior, motor functions, spontaneity, and socialization . The frontal lobes also help us to plan, coordinate, control, and execute behavior.
The brain exists on a physical tangible plane of existence, while the mind and thoughts exist on an intangible mental plane of existence.

Well, they're closely related. The brain is the physical part of the body where all bodily functions and processes take place. The brain sends messages throughout the nervous system, and is responsible for all the things that we do. The mind is where we do all our thinking, planning, and where all feelings, intelligence, thinking and emotions occur. It is more the psychological part of the body. I hope this explains it to you.
