I've played both... am on my 3rd round on Pearl. I prefer Diamond only because I prefer Dialga. Other than that, they are identical except for some pokemon that are on one and not the other and, of course, Palkia on Pearl... but he does have Spacial Rend which will knock ANYTHING out... Hmmm...

Pearl is good but diamond is better because it has dialaga which is steel and dragon. He has a strong attacks and is good. Pearl has palkia which is good to but its s=dragon and water.

if you want dialga choose diamond if you want palkia
choose pearl

Its really wat ur heart wants and if u want Dialga or Palkia but I like Pearl more because of Bonsly and u can get Houndour and I think houndoom with pokeradar.

theirs not such a big difference only where pokemon appear and the pokedex sayings but palika is stronger than dialga
