Never ever use Bleach. Bleach will set in Iron!
You use Iron Out. You should be able to get it at the grocery store.
Or you can use Baking Soda and Vinegar. Oxyclean is suppose to help and 20 Mule Team Borax as well

There is a powder just for this. Called Iron Out. Most hardware stores have it, so does WalMart. Use it per the directions in the rinse cycle. Works beautifully!

Use Clorox bleach. It really does do a better job than just store brand bleach. You could also try a water softener in the wash.
I had big time iron in my water when I lived in England, and Clorox had my whites whiter than anyone else's.

it depends on how much iron you have and what kind. iron out is sodium metabisulphate. it will still leave a yellow stain. bleach will oxodize and set it in. kwick fix- 1 cup of vinager to the wash and vinager in a downy ball. long term fix- water softener or KDF or manganese greensand in a filtration system. you need to have your water tested by a pro.

Just take your whites to the laundry mat once a week and wash them there.
