Yes, not makeup, but perfume. It was my first and last transaction with e-bay.
I bought 1 bottle of perfume. It ended up being something else inside the bottle. I still don't know how they did it. The package looked like original and it was properly sealed. I didn't see how can prove it easily that the perfume they sold me is not the actual perfume that it's supposed to be. I guess I could have done it, but I decided it's not worth my time.
I wouldn't buy makeup on e-bay, ever. Even if it is genuene product in original packaging you have no way of knowing if they stored it properly.

I've purchased a few items from ebay. Make sure you check the sellers ratings and only buy if they have VERY VERY good ratings. Some ebay sellers get their items b/c they buy makeup kits from places like QVC, then they turn around and sell each product individually and they make some money.

I don't buy anything from ebay, and if I did, I would definetly not buy make up. More than half the stuff on that site is used. I wouldn't be surprised if someone put a used tissue on that site! Gross!

i bought a Tommy Hilfiger lipstick that i couldn't find anywhere. its my mom's favorite and she was very happy that i got it for her. it was brand new and in its original packaging. to be fair, i knew exactly what shade she wanted and what to expect bc i had bought it before at foley's. you really can tell if a lipstick is used or not. you need to read reviews and feedback before making purchases. read the product info carefully and check to see that the seller has a good reputation.

I've bought MAC pigment online. The pigment is sold in large jars to makeup artists, and they usually sell it in 5gram jars. its awesome, and lasts a long time.
