Spongebob is not gay, straight, bisexual or anything. He is a cartoon sponge and does not have a portrayed sexuality whatsoever. Spongebob has never been involved in any romantic or sexual scenes in the cartoon, neither has he ever professed any sexuality. It's absurd to keep drawing conclusions like this from cartoons aimed at children.

No and I don't know how people ever came up with that. He's never professed to liking boys in the show. And I highly doubt there will be a gay cartoon show anytime soon on nationwide tv. He's fruity b/c he's a cartoon character. He has to be upbeat and funny to entertain kids. His character is a total contrast of Squidworth. That's probably what makes him so much fun to watch no matter what age group you're in.

For some reason I get the same feeling too, since he has been associated with the rainbow. Also, from what I have seen so far, he hasn't been on a date with a girl (probably in the newer episodes?). But you do have to remember that this is just a cartoon.
