Nombre de Dios? what does it mean?

I was reading the Mediator series by Meg Cabot and the ghost in that is from 1850 and is spanish, Jesse, says that when Suze....the person who can talk to the dead, starts talking to Jesse.


So she just stares at Jesse and says, "Who the hell are you?"
and since no one has been able to see jesse for 150 years he is shocked, so he says, "Nombre de Dios." in that context, what doe sit mean

By the 17th century Nombre de Dios had been all but abandoned by the Spanish, and its importance to the treasure fleets had been surpassed by Puerto Bello. The town still exists today, though it is nowhere near as large as it was in the 16th century.
