I've had three head injuries and each resulted in a memory gap. I don't know what happened after I was attacked, then I just sort of woke-up a few minutes later and was perfectly normal. Mine were from my head being hit against a hardwood floor, hit on the head by a piece of ice that was thrown, and from being punched in the face repeatedly during an assault. The worst part of it being asked by Police about what happened and not really knowing.
When you get hit on the head, your brain moves around inside your skull. Because your brain is floating in fluid to keep it stable, when your head moves around violently, it slams against the insides of your skull. This agitates your brain and you get temporary brain trauma. If it's really bad, you could have permanent brain damage. The area under my left eye twitched for about two years after I was assaulted. I'm perfectly fine now and I know firsthand that getting hit on the head is very dangerous. I try to avoid situations where I might be involved in violence.

Your head may hurt and you are tired afterwards. Also, your stomach usually gets upset. It happened to me when i feel off a horse last week.
