There are several different programs available. I would need to know what state you are located in. I do first time home buyer loans in TN. TN has a program through THDA which will allow 100% financing and a 2% grant of the loan amount that does not have to be repaid to use for closing costs at a current rate of 6.20% and a 4% grant of the loan amount for closing at a rate of 6.70%. If you are not located in TN try to pull up your state's housing development agency website to see what your state offers. For these programs you have to credit and income qualify. Good luck.

You may occasionally find some local municipally sponsored grants to purchase homes based upon income, etc. but generally these programs are designed to help raise the level of a blighted neighborhood by encouraging home ownership.

As far as federal grants go, they do not exist.

There are no grants to buy you a home. Sorry, but that is how it is.

You can look for one if you want at grants.gov, but trust me, there are no free houses.

There are some loan programs, go to hud.gov for those, but there aren't any homes at the expense of the taxpayers.
