Sure! They help the Enemies of America. They Love All the Terrorists everywhere on this Planet. They hate All Religions except Islam, and defend the practice of their religion in schools, and other Public Buildings, while removing any other type of religious activity in Public Building by Legal Good Americans. They defend all types of criminals, with special attentions to deviates.
OH, Well, you get the idea!

I worked with the ACLU twice. Both times it was to help women I found out about who were in prison and were dying of AIDS. They weren't being treated humanely--sometimes, even cruelly--even though they were literally on their death beds. I got the ACLU and the Osborne ASSN. involved and got bothe medical parole so they could die at home with their families, in a hospice. One was released a couple of weeks before Christmas and hung on until about 4 days after Christmas. She got to be home for the holidays and rejoined to her family before she died, though, and that was all she wanted.

There are times when the side of the issues that the ACLU sides with has upset people. However, their purpose is purely to ensure that the constitutional and human rights of individuals are not violated. So, at their foundation, they are a godsend. The ACLU has, most recently, been protecting our constitutional rights by strenuously objecting to a lot of the issues raised by the Patriot Act. Without such sanctions, there would be no end to what the government could try to get away with at all citizens' expense.

The ACLU is quite good at sparking heated 'debates'. I'm certain the people/groups the represent would have a different answer. I never expect to be in one of those groups. Of course, they would claim they represent everyone. That is one more thing i disagree with them about.

Protecting civil liberties, yours and mine.

If you actually stop and read the details of the cases the ACLU gets involved in, you'd agree with 99% of them. Everyone would.

The mission of the ACLU is to preserve all of these protections and guarantees:

Your First Amendment rights-freedom of speech, association and assembly. Freedom of the press, and freedom of religion supported by the strict separation of church and state.

Your right to equal protection under the law - equal treatment regardless of race, sex, religion or national origin.

Your right to due process - fair treatment by the government whenever the loss of your liberty or property is at stake.

Your right to privacy - freedom from unwarranted government intrusion into your personal and private affairs.

The ALCU is important. They provide a balance to the government. The ALCU counters the governments actions and it is up to the "supposed to be" independent courts to find middle ground.

Without the ALCU, the government could trample liberties. Remember, our society is based on laws.

The problem with the ACLU is that they ignore the American Constitution. That Constitution says "WE THE PEOPLE", not "I" the people.

It's good for CAIR and the other enemies of America.
Shame, because they could use their considerable resources for good instead of evil
