I live in NW Ohio and would like to know when the next few major meteor showers will be? Also, what direction would I have to look at in the sky?

Persied showers have already started and will last till the late part of next month. This year, the height is Aug 12, but you can see the showers when there is little to no moon, this year between aug 8 and aug 18. This year, the peak of the persieds on Aug 12 will be the same time as the new (no) moon. Go out to a quiet place in the country, away from lights, bring a reclining lawn chair and your favorite beverage some good munchies, and enjoy the show!

The August issue of "Sky and Telescope" recommends Sunday night, August 12-13, around 1 AM in Ohio for the Perseids. The moon makes meteor showers hard to see, and the good news is there will NOT be a moon that evening!

Find the darkest sky that is conveniently available, lie on your back on a blanket, and be patient. Enjoy.
