look up the fertilizers section under 'human urine' on wikipedia.org
The amonia thing is not an issue. Urea in urine is something like 10,000 times less toxic than amonia.
Dilute your pee with 10-20 parts water. Don't eat too many sweets and chocolate bars. And don't pee on your plants before eating them, pee in the growing season. I found your question because I was about to go try it on my own garden.

There's even a book about it... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Liquid-Gold-Logic-Using-Plants/dp/1903998484

Your wee-wee, is, of course, a form of liquid fertilizer. That's what the ammonia is all about. But if applied directly from YOU to the plant, it can cause burning. Best thing to do is take a whiz in the dirt 6" or so from the plant -or else save your pee and dilute it in a ratio of about 10 parts clear water to one part your water, in which case you can douse it on the ground around the plant stem.

You may also pee liberally on a compost pile or just a pile of ground up leaves, grass clippings, etc.

Night soil (your poop) is an additional option, but should be added to compost or dirt (not the planted area) thoroughly mixed in and then allowed to season for at least 6 months.

I have a relative who was Mr. Organic Gardener of All Times ~ he saved his urine, diluted it with water, and used it on his bedding plants.
Urine of course is high in nitrogen, and I will confess, his plants grew quite well.

Urine is one of the best fertilizers there is. Its good for just about anything you plant. Vegetables Trees especially any leaf vegetables. Its used in all Countries except the United States. You have to be careful and keep it separated from Humane Manure, which could be terrible I use it on all my Garden Veggies and fruit trees and Flowers, The Ammonia Nitrate is good for most plants. You can even Drink your own and its good for you, In alternative medicine, the term urine therapy or urotherapy, (also urinotherapy or uropathy) refers to various applications of human urine for medicinal or cosmetic purposes, including drinking of one's own urine and massaging one's skin with one's own urine. While there is currently insufficient evidence for the therapeutic use of urine, many chemical components of urine have wide-scale industrial and agricultural use, such as urea and urokinase. .

You will feel relieved but the plant will feel stressed. It will be as if you have passed (no pun intended) your discomfort along to the plant in liquid form. Not very polite. Ever wonder how the plant in "Little Shop of Horrors" got that way?

Urine has small amounts of ammonia in it. The plants will die.

Depends on the plant. Most plants would die. But, plants that like an acidic soil, like azaleas and camelias, could stand it.

Look what happens to your lawn when a dog pees on it and imagine that result with your plants.

I always dilute my urine with at least 4 cold beers.
