Nice try buddy but it isn't just conservatives. The liberals are infamous for their threatening and hateful emails.

If you go REALLY far back in my history, you'll see that I used to post here in the P&G section all the time. A year ago, this was about the only section I was ever in.

I stopped coming in here so much because I was tired of the rudeness, from BOTH sides. Some of the conservatives here are rude people. So are many of the liberals.

I had to endure a couple months of personal attacks from a particular group of liberals before Yahoo finally did something about it. This group stalked me from question to question, giving all my answers thumbs-down, reported everything they could possibly get away with (I was getting nearly a dozen violation notices every day), cloned me, targeted me in questions, accused me of all sorts of terrible things (everything from racism to homophobia to being a "hacker" and "multiple profiling", as well as being a pedophile)...

I am socially conservative, and fiscally moderate.

My point? It's not just conservatives. It's everyone here. There's nothing like anonymity that brings out the worst in people.

But there are also lots of DECENT people on both sides. I prefer to focus on them, and ignore the rest.

I think that most candidates in general are rude when they know what they are trying to sell is not a sound argument and it is really just beneficial to their agenda. If a candidate is pushing crap and someone sees through this and points it out to the general public, the candidate can't argue for his views because they are compromised by sound logic, but if he can make his opponent look bad it won't matter. Most people will forget the issue and let their own prejudices or deeply ingrained biases against take over. It isn't that conservatives are rude, it's just that many of the people today with hidden agendas label themselves as conservatives.

Since you have two groups in America. Conservative and Liberal and uninformed. Unfortunately lots of liberals get dumped in with the uninformed for obvious reasons. But the real two groups are the informed and the sheeple. The sheeple are the ones that wander around without a clue and make pronouncements about any and everything without the slightest clue of what they are talking about. They do very well reading handouts and using talking points. But they have to be given a certain dogma without understanding any of the guiding principles behind it. Then there is the 5% that tend to be all conservative. They know what they are talking about and have excellent knowledge of the world around them.
Glad to help out.
A conservative.

Oh, there are incredibly rude people on both sides; we tend to notice the ones we disagree with more.

Rudeness violates the Guidelines for this site and should be reported.

Read the Guidelines, if you aren't familiar with them; there's a link at the bottom of most pages.

As long as most users allow the rudeness to remain, it will; if more people reported violations, this site would be much more civilized.

I believe it's not so much that conservatives are all that rude it's just that liberals tend to lead everything with their "feelings". Consrvatives, on the other hand, tend to be more pragmatic in their decisions. In other words if something feels good or someone says something that makes them feel good liberals are all about it regardless of facts or common sense. Conservatives usually base their decisions on traditional common sense and this, in and of itself, tends to make liberals view conservatives as either rude or mean spirited. I could sight many examples but to answer your question this is generally why.

Why does everyone have to accuse each other on here? Why can't we just ask questions we really need answers to and be decent to each other? Yahoo Answers has become a community where almost every time I open a question there is some knucklehead who has a flip, or even a nasty, cruel answer. Then there are the racists and other trolls who come on here just to stir things up by asking questions which they expect will get angry answers. (?) Why? Is it that their self-esteem is that low that they have to come on here trying to put down as many people as they can?
Interestingly enough, by doing so they only succeed in lowering their self-esteem even more, because they make total and complete fools of themselves when doing so. Part of me feels sorry for these people. They do really need serious therapy.
However, I neither have the time nor the credentials to give it to them and my children, who do surf the internet on occassion, don't need to be subjected to their trash.

To be fair, there are some rude liberals here as well--the anonymity of YA brings out the crazies.

That said? Many (not all) liberals believe everyone should be equal, to the point that we're accused of being socialists or communists, and thus are less likely to believe "there's only one way and it's mine." Mainly we get mad when we see someone diss other people (thus their complaints that we call them racist or homophobic).

However, many (not all) conservatives believe there should be firm rules of "morality" in place (based definitively on Judeo-Christian belief systems) and thus have no trouble believing "there is ONLY one right answer." Because they believe that, some also believe that if someone offers a dissenting opinion, it MUST be an insult, because we MUST be saying we're right and THEY are wrong. Even if we aren't.

You can see how this would color the tone of their answers.

It is not just the Conservatives. I see incredibly rude responses from Liberals as often as Conservatives. Perhaps both sides need to tone it down a bit.
