The day after you work out really hard you should stretch out your muscles a lot and take a hot bath to relax them.
I use tiger balm to help the aching and massage it in.
Wait until later that night to work out again. If they're really tense and sore its easier for an accident to happen or your muscle to tear.
I suggest going on a run, then let them rest.
If you only worked some muscles then ots okay to do other ones, just dont strain the sore ones very much.

Most people will say wait 24 hours, and work out upper body one day and lower the next, alternating and taking one rest day a week.

New studies are saying take 72 hours. The new studies are saying upper body, lower body, rest day, etc.

When you lift weights, your muscle tissue is tearing. This is the pain that you are feeling. The scar tissue that develops during the rest period is stronger and larger than the original muscle.

The pain will go away in time. But if you stop working out for a while, and start again you will have to go through the pain again.

You could work out different muscles. That would be okay, but the muscles you worked yesterday need to at least be warmed up well to distribute the acid that has built up (that's what causes the pain). That should help the pain a lot. If you want to work them mildly, that would be okay, but I wouldn't work them like yesterday. Give them a little bit of a break.

I know nothing about athletic training, this is based on common sense.

Soreness is caused when u work ur muscles to there limit, but when u still keep working u may end up really hurting ur self. so just cut back for sometime. Say 2 days

never workout the same muscles more than one day in a row. your muscles need time to heal. so what you could do is:
one day work upper body, then next do lower body. make it a routine. if you keep working the same muscles day after day, they'll just keep ripping and eventually not heal... then you're REALLY gonna be soar lol

Nope. Take a rest. Muscle growth occurs during resting & sleeping & not while on work-out. You could possibly add more injury by working out while you're sore.

You should allow 48 hours after you work out a muscle set. So, if you decide to exercise tomorrow, focus on another muscle group.

I've always heard that it's best to workout every other day. This gives your muscles time to rebuild. Some guys do upper body one day and lower the next. You get the idea.

Generally you should rest muscles for 48 hours. If you work out every day; alternate groups.

if your sore that means your muscles have done something they have never done before.
they soreness will go away if you continue to work them out/
but only doing the same exercises you did that made them sore.
soon you will get use to the work out and it will become easy meaning that you gained more muscle.
then you will have to make your work out harder
