Hey there!

Here's the answer.

3x-4+7-x=13-4x+2+x --> Write the problem.
3x-x-4+7=-4x+x+13+2 --> Gather the x terms together and the constant terms together.
2x+3=-3x+15 --> Simplify the above equation.
5x+3=15 --> Add 3x on both sides of the equation.
5x=12 --> Subtract 3 on both sides of the equation.
x=12/5 --> Divide both sides of the equation by 5.
x=2.4 Write the answer in a decimal.

So the solution is x=2.4 or x=12/5.

Hope it helps!

Simplify to start.

3x-x=2x
-4+7=3
13+2=15
-4x+x=-3x

The equation is now
2x+3=15-3x

Add 3x
5x+3=15

Subtract 3
5x=12
x=12/5 or 2.4
