The average person passes gas at least 10 times during a normal day. Being pregnant on top of being normal is going to add to that a bit.
While it's uncomfortable and a bit on the embarrassing side, it's a good sign too! It's proof positive that your bowels are still moving waste product through them.
If your OB OKs it, take some bean-o or gas-x. Maybe cut back on the more gassy foods like broccoli, beans or cabbages. Watch your diet and see what triggers the onset and then cut that food out if you can. If it's everything, then use the remedies above. What ever you do, enjoy the fact that you are pregnant and have fun! It's a great time in your life! :0)

Women can have a lot more gas and bloating during pregnancy because their digestion is slowed down in order for their body to absorb more nutrients from food. This makes for a more active colon plus gives more time fordigestion thereby producing more gas. Take some GasX - most OBs will say that is fine but you could check first if you would feel better. Also if it really pains you avoid food that cause gas like beans, ruffage (spinach, kale), and possibly dairy (for some people).

Ha Ha! I didn't eat greasy foods when I was pregnant. I ate very healthy and STILL had "painful gas"!! It got a lot better as I got bigger...I guess there was not enough space for the gas!!!

Beano can be your best friend when you're pregnant. Take it with your first bite of food and it will GREATLY reduce the onset of gas.
If you do still get gas, take simethicone. You can get it generic at Walmart or Target really cheap. It's usually called "gas relief."

It's very normal. But I didn't want to get rid of it lol, I liked to make my boyfriend suffer by farting around him since he's the one that made me that way ;)

Yes it is the prenatal vitamins. And the fact that you are probably eating better.
There isn't much you can do about just one more of the lovely things us moms have to go through.
Talk to your doc, they might be able to help you out.

Yes! I know it is so horrible. I cut back on broccoli and other gassy foods and it has helped some but I still definitly have issues.
