When I first got my old betta I put it in a large tank with other fish for a while it stayed in the corner. It was acting like it was still in it's contaner, but after a few mounths it came out. So your will probly soon come out or not if it's scared of the other fish.

Most likely hiding from something. It could be another fish in the tank or even something outside the tank.

It's also possible he just likes it there for now and will stop doing it soon.

As long as he's eating and able to swim around and not being picked on by another fish, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Most beginner tanks are virtually void of plants and decorations. One plastic plant in each of the back corners just isn't enough for many species to feel comfortable. Try thickening up the plants, add a piece of driftwood and maybe a rock or three, and you will see your fish feeling alot more secure.

a lot of times fish will just choose one spot and it will be their "favorite" One of my fish like the back right corner of my tank, and the other one likes the middle of the left side of my tank. It's where they stay most of the time

If you put them there when you introduced them to your tank, then they probobly feel safer there. Or if you feed them there they could just stay there for food. Try baseing there lives somewhere other than the corner by feeding them in the middle of the tank.

It may have to do with temperature of the water. It may be warmer or colder in this spot
