I have to agree with you, I don't know why politicians can't do the job they are elected to do, and that is to represent the people of their district. But sadly, they bow down to the almighty $ that PAC's and party officials offer them. It almost becomes a form of political party blackmail.

Because they WANT to get Elected. And since EVERYONE has "Issues" that would NOT be popular with the Electorate; they "hide behind the Party Line" -for "cover". Take our current "Decider"- for example; HE hid so WELL behind that "Party Line"- that no one KNEW what he really stood for- until it was TOO LATE (especially for anyone who happened to be in the Service when he got Elected). We have GOT to do a better job- at checking out the people we vote in to represent this Country. Lives & Reputations of MILLIONS- depend on it...

Because, over and over, most of us do believe them. People want to trust. They don't want to face it that all politicians are much more like each other than any of them are like us. Think about it. Real people have to do what we say we're going to do almost all the time, or the world will cease to function. Politicians lie for a living.
