I keep hearing topics on the news about reparations for african americans. i think its ridicules that some people demand reparations for something that happend 100s of years ago. you shoulnt have to pay for what you ancestors did.

No. I wasn't a slave my ancestors were so why should I get reparations for the hardships they endured? If anything they deserve the reparations but they are dead so that is out of the picture.

No, I don't ! If reparations are paid to that race, then just about every race will have to pay each other past slavery actions. In Africa when warring fractions fought, one side lost, they took prisoners, "Slaves". Should those groups pay each other as well?

How about Mexicans getting paid for the border moving on them? Then in the great depression they were forced out of jobs and forced to live in migratory camps?

In short no. I am not going to pay (through taxes) for something my ancestors had no part of.

Less than two percent of the people owned slaves.

And besides, black people in America are a LOT better off than the ones in Africa.

They need to quit complaining.
