Most employers will not want to hire someone who's going to quit in just 6-9 months. And understandably so.
And it's NOT fair or honest to an employer to get hired and hide your pregnancy from them until it's obvious you're showing. Both parties should always be up front with each other.
Wouldn't you be angry if your employer lied to you about something very important? So why are so many here suggesting it's ok to lie to get a job?
I would try to find work you can do from home. Or go through a temp agency to get short-term work.
Or get by on one income. A lot more families than you think do this. We have 3 children and are a single-income household and only my husband works. He makes $35,000 a year.

Yeah, I agree, people don't really want to hire someone brand new and spend all the time training and all that when they are just going to leave in 9 months, so the earlier you find a job, the better and then don't tell your boss until you are at least 3 months (12 weeks) along. That is usually the time frame to tell people b/c just in case, God forbid something happens, the last thing you want to deal with is a bunch of people at work not knowing what to say to you.

im 7 weeks along and im looking for a job. I figure that the sooner i get a job the better chance i have because people are not to up to hiring someone when they are 6 or 7 months pregnant. So get out there and find a job. Good Luck.

Try and get a job as soon as you can. I had probs trying to get one when i started showing. I got dismissed every which way. The problem is you have to be honest with employers, because if anything happens to you at work, and it affects the baby, the company will not be liable for anything as you did not notify them of your pregnancy. If you go on a temp basis then i don't see it being a problem. Whatever you decide, good luck and congrats.

Eventhough it is illegal, if an employer has you and an other candidate with the same qualifications, he will most liquely pick the one that is not pregnant. I would not advise you to keep it from the employer though. Maybe you can search at a temp agency. The person searching for your jobs should know that you are preggi, and that way she can pick jobs for you that will not hurt you; and since they are temp jobs, you will also not hurt your reputation for when you want to use any of your employers names for references when you're ready for a full time job. Best of luck to you.

As long as you don't have a physical job I don't think it would be hard. The only thing is if they know you are pregnant there is a good chance they won't hire you. If you are going to look I would do it now before you start showing, and then wait until your three months of probation are over to tell them if possible. Good luck!

My advice is start now, don't say a word, suck it up because you are strong and will be fine (mind over matter as far as fatigue, morning sickness, etc) and when the time comes to tell them, lie through your teeth and tell them you found out late (had a period if you need to tell specifics because that is common) and keep your job as long as you want!

I would go ahead and look for a job now, You are not showing yet. When you start to show they may not hire you. I know when I was pregnant and showing they wouldn't hire me. Once you are hired on they can not fire you because you are pregnant.'

You should start looking now. It will be harder to get someone to hire you once you have started to show. Plus you would be able to save more money.
