I really want to buy a hedgehog. I live in Mobile AL and am soon moving to Auburn AL. I have researched hedgehogs and I am ready to make this decision, but don't know where to buy one. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, if anyone knows the approximate price of a young hedgehog in AL, I'd like to know. Thanks!

Hedgehogs are quite commonly kept as household pets. They ARE available to the public, and like hamsters, require a certain amount of care. As I stated, I have already done that research. If you don't know anything about the question don't respond please. Thanks!!

You should sugar gliders. Easier to take care of and really cute. A hedgehog is very lazy and likes to be in the dark 90% of the time. They don't like much socializing.
You can probably get a hedgehog from a private seller or wildlife rescue services.

That wouldn't be very wise. A natural forest animal would not want to be cooped up in a vast modern atmosphere, and if you want to cuddle it and stuff like that -- common sense, please?
