I dont want to teach all my life. I love teaching but I also want to do something else. I am not sure so please leave me good suggestions for grad school with an English background. Thanks!

If you are interested in being an administrator--a principal or superintendent, you may wish to consider a graduate degree in educational leadership. A Master's degree in English would qualify you to teach at the college level.

I recommend teaching for a couple of years and doing informational interviews with people in any field that interests you before you decide on a graduate program.

You may like the educational setting, but be more interested in working with young people in a different way, such as being a counselor. There are master's degrees specifically for k-12 counselors.

One field that teachers go into is corporate training and design of training programs. The skills teachers have directly transfer into those areas. Talk to people in that field to see what they recommend.

You have plenty of time to decide. Keep paying attention to what interests you. That may give you clues to what field you may eventually try.

Good luck!

journalism, advertising, marketing, business administration - it all depends on what you want and like to do. What does your state require for a teaching credential? That will pretty much decide what you do in grad school. What is your minor? That should lead you to a second career too.
