If
Δ EDA = ΔCDB by SAS
Then we know AD = DB.
Thus 3x+4 = 2x+ 16
x + 4 = 16
x = 12

If all sides are equal than by symmetry AD=BD
I.E 3X+4 = 2X +16
3X - 2X = 16- 4
X = 12
So AD = 3x+ 4 = 3*12 + 4 = 40
BD = AD = 40 {2X+ 16 = 2*12 + 16 =24+16 = 40}
hence AD = BD = 40 units

AD = 3*12+4 = 40
BD = 2*12+16 = 40
AD = BD because they are corresponding parts of congruent triangles.
