I think we are on the decline. Our educational system is horrible, we are much lower in the rankings throughout the world. I believe it is partially due to the materialist attitude in this country. Nobody cares about integrity anymore. Nobody cares about politics, philosophy, humanities, science. All our young care about is MTV and if Paris Hilton really blew that dude whose been to jail ten times. Excuse my language but i feel it is necessary. Our values no longer exist. Even religious values dont exist anymore. Priest fondle and abuse little kids. Now I am a 19 year old agnostic, I find nothing wrong with sexuality, yet I also find nothing wrong with Religion as long as it is moderated. But our ethics and worldy knowledge is abhorrent and basically nonexistent. Our schools need to be reformed, our media needs to be reformed as well.

The problem is that we're not even close to the giant landmass known as Europe, which is essentially the center of world affairs. We are a bit isolated, even though we have the internet. Also as far as academics go, American schools have more emphasis on non-academic classes like art, music, sports etc, while in other places you take several math classes instead of ceramics and drama.

Smarter. Information is everywhere. People can't avoid it. A person taking the baby steps may start out saying stupid things but as they explore their own statements which are open to debate they become smarter in their quest to find the truth.
Those who choose to live in a fantasy world of entertainment will eventually be in for a rude awakening when they get slapped with the harsh realities of life. Then they will be on a quest for the truth as well.

Just the other day, some lady explained to me that the whole environmental issue is tied to the anti-Christ. LOL. Just blew my mind. Oh well! It's entertainment on the minimum.
