I would have to say that they are both great. My father is just that, my father. And in a girls eyes, most of the time, there is no man greater than her daddy. My husband is also great in his own ways. They do not try to out do each other, and they are both wonderful to my children. That is all that matters to me.

My husband says his mother does the laundry better than I do. However, he says I'm a better cook and I'm smarter. I'm ok with it.

My father walked out on my mother and I. My step father felt the best type of discipline was a ***** slap and then shoving my head to the ground. My husband may walk out on me but it's been over 10 years. If my husband ever hit me, he'd end up 6 feet under with a bullet between his eyes.

Don Mambo , there is no comparison between wife or mothers. Your mother ends her job raising and nurturing you when You each the adult age. Now that you are an adult you are responsible to love and take care of your family. This apply to father and husband too. PS. Parents love is different from spouse love . I hope to God !!,this is not an incest question.

First of all, they are not in the same role in my life, so there is no comparison.

One had the parental role. My Father.

One, my partner, my lover, my friend, my Husband.

I didn't know my Father in the way I know my Husband, so how can I possibly compare them.

I am an ex-wife who's husband thinks his mother is better than me. He also believes his father is better than me... who by the way has been accused of sexually molesting his sisters. His mother is a controlling woman who pretends to be godly and wholesome... who tells him when to eat, when to sleep, and when to take his medication.. My X-hubby is 40 years old.. he divorced me to take care of his parents who by the way are perfectly fine....So in my case the parents won... and I say f#$k them!!! Oh, and also in my case, my father is the better man.. .at least he realized his wife came first!

ew, why are we comparing?!?!?! No one is "better" this kind of mentality is what breaks marriages up. Your wife should not be a replacement of your mother, gross.
Comparing apples to apples, my husband will be a much better father than my own father, b/c he cares, and can control his temper.

I'm gonna go with they are different and each is best in his own way. My father's flaws my sweetie doesn't have them, and viceversa.

If I were to choose one, then I would fall for that "dating someone like my father" thing and it freaks me out.
