I used the dye test and it turned the water yellow. So, how do I go about fixing it? I want to try to fix it myself.

With all due respect and without knowing at all why a dye test, you could have detailed a bit better.

Is there obvious water on the floor? On the bowl coming from the tank? OR is it just that the toilet seems to constantly be "running"??

If it's just running then a check and replacement of the flapper and flush mechanism can help. If the leak is from the seal between the tank and bowl then it can be removed and a new seal and hardware installed. If it's leaking onto the floor, pull the toilet; replace the wax seal and bolt hardware.

I am assuming that you put dye in the tank and it showed up in the bowl. That would indicate that the flush valve needs replacing. You can get a new one at the hardware store. You can get the whole unit or just the flapper parts. There will be directions on the package and it is easy. You will have to turn the water off flush the toilet to get the water out of the tank while your doing it. Nothing to it and it will be good as new.

is it leaking at the base ( replace the wax ring )

is it leaking at the area between the tank and the bowl (replace the gasket and both washers on the hold down bolts)

is it leaking at the water inlet on the base of the tank
( tighten the nut on the bottom of the water inlet valve )

and if it is not the toilet itself leaking ( suggest someone use a little better aim ) ;)

sometimes we just have to hire a plumber, sometimes there is no leak inspite of dye tests too.
