The first step is a visit to the township office to see what the rules are. You may need a permit to put it on your land. Sometimes the electric company might not have service available close by, that means you might need extra poles put into place. Even if it is close they will not provide electricity till all the permits are in place. The township might require a perc test so that a septic system would work. Now the well, do you know how far down is the water table? If you are in a rocky area drilling could be expensive. If the water table is near the surface you might sink your own well. Visit your local extension office, they can be a great help and have some cost estimates. You will also need a pump and tank to bring the water into the trailer. Take one step at a time and it can be a rewarding experience. Good luck

Chances are that you will discover your land in Los Angeles is not zoned to accept a mobile home. The fact that you own it is not relevant. You must follow the adopted zoning codes of the municipality in which the property is located.

You need a permit and of course the property needs to be zoned for a mobile home. Most of that zoning in LA is restricted to mobile home parks, and is not allowed in residential neighborhoods.
