I'm lost as to how to make new friends. Since I left college after having my daughter I've lost touch with how to interact with women my age. I mostly have older women friends but it's just not the same. I'm very shy so its not easy to approach people. I need help. I want to hang out with people my age. Any advice?

The older women may have daughters your age.
Also, increase your activity. Find activities you like to do with your child and get out there. There might be many hit & misses ... but the wider you increase your activities, the more you will find people like you. It's also a way to expand your horizen. Maybe taking "Tennis" classes will help you meet people, but also get you in touch with a new sport.
Above all, be happy, and never stop exploring.

Be outgoing. It's summer take your daughter to the playground. Look for women with children her age and while your kids are playing introduce yourself. Set up a play date. This way your daughter gets a new playmate and so does mommy. Plus you'll have something in common.

If you still have a couple friends hit the clubs you're bound to meet someone new and exciting there. When your at the age that you are its important to have friends there for you and to talk to and to have fun! So don't be shy because when your older it means you get to hang out whenever you want so just start talking to people.

awww hey i commend you on your strength your a really brave and nice young lady i really do admire your commitment to your 4 year old daughter BRAVO Ms. good work.I'm 29 years old and Very Happily Married. Join a moms group. I know it sounds weird but on Yahoo groups my mom joined a group of moms who live by us locally and they have mom nights out and play dates for the kids and all sorts of fun stuff. And my mom didn't even know the people before! Look on yahoo groups for some local moms groups, but check the people out before you let you child around them. (There are creepy people in the world unfortunately) Good luck!
( im only 14 btw and my mom is like 39 but most of the ppl in the group are in early-middle 20's. The ages of kids range from newborn - 14.)
