I was deathly afraid of elevators because I was in them so often. I told myself I took the stairs for exercise but I was having leg cramps in the middle of the night (15 floors!!) It was a big issue, but I am a psychiatrist so I could not let it go on forever. One day, a Saturday, I decided to try Behaviorism and I went in my building with a bottle of water in my purse and a colleague who was willing to help and wait. I finally got on the damn thing and rode it up and down and all points in between for 4 solid hours. Wasn't sure it had worked and it was scary as hell for me. I cannot say it was the Placebo Effect but I really believe I overcame the phobia and the fear because I still use those elevators today. Took the anxiety around a month to die down but it finally left me and I am more of a Behaviorist now than ever.

well my greatest fear came true, and i can not tell you if I can help but my daughter only 23 yr old died last May, I still have no idea how to get through that, but if you are talking about being scared at night, snakes, spiders and at one time dags? well maybe you should try and buy one (spider, snake) like the dog, it could help.
but, when you fear loosing a child, there is no buying another one! try and work through your fears, like getting that dog helped (in a way) right?
Like I said I am not sure if this can even help you, but I do pray you can overcome these fears, or at least cope with them.

Me fear of dogs - I got bitten very often by street mutts - my parents took on a puppy and I got to learn more about them - though our puppy was not the mutt's on the street and my fear was still of others dogs though not my own.
Spiders are things that creep in the bathtub - funny really cuz there's never any water in there when they do decide to wash themselves.
Darkeness is my greatest fear - it always has been and always will be. Man made darkness is even worse and I cannot handle it whatever the situation. I need light, I was given eyes to see yet told to go without them for a while. I was given a mouth and tongue to speak - yet everyone prefers my silence. Daft people really..messing with my mind.
I didn't have a grandma, grandpa so I don't know what to answer there.

My biggest fear for a long time was being single (i'm a 20 year old female). I was basically "in love with love" until the age 17. Prior to that time, I just wanted to be able to say I had a boyfriend because it made me feel more advanced in life. (Getting married is something I dream of). Anyway, after a tumultous relationship which ended a little before my 17th birthday, I decided to take some time out of the dating world. Because I wanted to find someone who I wanted to be with because I loved him for him, not because I could call him my boyfriend. After going through that process, I became a different person. I no longer thought life was all about being in love. I have had a handful of relationships since that time, although nothing has worked out yet. I'm still wanting to find a guy to be with, but I'm not forcing anything. I'm just living my life, meeting new people, and praying. If its God's will that I find someone, it'll happen!

Fear of blood. Stepped up to the plate when my sweet daughter had to choose between staying in the hospital or having someone that would learn about her illness and care for her at home.

I have a fear of heights and spiders. I'm still afraid of them. I used to be afraid of public speaking, but grad school and my job kind of cured me of that. The more you're forced to do something, the more comfortable you become with it.

i have no fears what-so-ever.
the only , in a platonic sense, "FEAR" (hah) i might have, is that i could some day, fear something or someone.
but alas, that cannot happen.
I live in Paris, so i usually go climbing up the Eiffel Tower with my bare hands ( sometimes I use my face). Some ask me if im not afraid , how could I ?
you see my beloved, i am not a mere human , i am ... more.
i ll leave it at that.

Driving off the road into a river and drowning. I haven't fixed them, and I hope I don't ever have to face them.
