well you take the x on the right and subtract it from both sides.
3x-x+2=x-x+10
which equals
2x+2=10
its easy from here on. just take the two and subtract it from both sides, like this.
2x+2-2=10-2
which of course equals
2x=8
then you just divide both sides by two
2x/2=8/2
(/ mean divide)
which comes out to be
1x (which is the same way of saying "x") =4
and theres your answer!
