Those are cute for short or as a nickname, but I would go with something that would stand the test of time for her formal name.
Danielle = Dani; Stephanie = Stevie.
Can you imagine a 45 year old woman named Dani or Stevie? If you still think it's OK, then go for it!

Dani I could use at a nickname for Danielle. That I could roll with, but I couldn't see naming by kid Stevie if it was a girl, I guess it could be okay, but I could never do it.
Hope This Helps =D

Dani, Stevie sounds a lot like Steve, which is a boy's name.

I like Dani if it was a nickname for Daniel. I like Stevie for Stephanie. The new trend is naming kids nicknames as full names. There are so many more "Abby's", "Maggie's", and "kate's" now than there was before. I think go for it! It would be cute and the kids won't have to go through the embarresment of when a nurse, dentist, or teacher calls them by a full name. (My name is Abigail, I iwshed I wasn't alive when people called me that.)

I like them both but I'd use them as nicknames for Danyelle or Stephanie just in case she wants to be a doctor or something. I mean i like Stevie though cause look at Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac, she rocks!
