Osage orange is used mainly for decorative wood carving and bowls mostly now. some people use The dried naturally wood (not kiln dried) for making a bow. in The late 19th and early 20th century the wood pulp was used to die military clothes that's were we got the khaki color. the wood has amazing properties of resisting decay so the wood was used to make fences out west. and the hedge apples contain a compound that repells bugs.
they even make good potpourri

whenever i have unwanted extra plants that i've collected from clients' gardens or dug out of my own i put them on craig's list. just say what they are, and where you are leaving them (under the stairs, at the curb, on the front stoop, etc) and they're gone in a flash. the voodoo lillys were a big hit, btw.

If you are looking for someone to take it off your hands, why not call the local garden club? They may have contacts who would love to have the plant.

Post it on craigslist.org. Someone will probably take it. They may even cut it down. If not, have a bonfire...
