My hubby and I have been trying to start our family now for 2 yrs. I just turned 30 this year, but hubby is younger. I've been to the doctor and things just aren't happening. Any advice on speeding things up and stop the waiting game?
1. I take my basil temp every morning.
2. I take ovulation pee tests about a week after my period stops.
3. Dr has me on metformin to regulate my insides.
4. I take prenatal vitamins.
Please help as everyone around me that is pregnant is really starting to mess with my head. They just happen to get pregnant right away or just start trying and they get pregnant. I don't understand why it's so hard for us when it's something we both feel is the next step as a family. Thanks for any help or advice you can give.

I've been on metformin since may.
In 1998 I had my tubes flushed and I did have cysts on one ovary and scarring tissue on the other. No other testing or such has been done since.

I understand your situation completely. My husband and I have been TTC for almost 2 years also. I'm 33 and he's 42. We've gone through 3 IUIs and they were all unsuccessful. This month we decided to give my body a break and stop taking the fertility meds (Clomid and Estradiol). The only meds that I'm still continuing to take is Metformin. I would suggest going to the doc and gettting your bloodwork done. Have your hubby get a sperm anaylsis also. I hope this helps and that we'll both be pregnant this month. Good luck!

Exactly why are you on the Met? It doesn't "regulate" your insides.
Has your husband had a sperm analysis?
Have you have FSH and E2 blood work, to check to see the egg quality and the hormone necessary to cause a good ovulation?
Have you had your thyroid checked?
It's time for you to be on fertility drugs, either starting with Clomid or injectible drugs like Gonal-F, with ovulation triggered. You might also consider IUIs. 2 years is a long time, and you need another medical professional if you are not getting more aggressive treatment.
Consult a reproductive endocrinologist. Without testing, blood work and sperm analysis to start, you are wasting time.

Has your husband been checked? If not that's your next step...he needs to get his sperm count checked and make sure everything is OK with him. Has the doctor checked to make sure your fallopian tubes are open? Has he checked your hormones to make sure you are ovulating every month? How about going through a cycle of fertility medication such as Clomid? And using a shot of HCG to get those eggs to drop? Talk to your doctor some more. Good luck.

i have been trying 2 years for #2 and i have been doing a lot of research on infertility, is it a regular dr your seeing? you really need to go to a RE, or a specialist, they know way better then a primary physician, and even an ob/gyn sometimes doesn't know what he/she is talking about. i suggest you and your hubby are both checked because 40% of the time it is male factor infertility, 40% of the time it is female factor, and 20% of the time it is a combination of both.
i know what you mean it seems like everyone is pregnant, its not fair! good luck!

All the stress that you are causing yourself by wanting to get pregnant could be having an effect.
I used to get so down when my period came every month, I tried for about 8 months, It really upset me, and in the end, i stopped worrying about it so much and didnt let myself get upset when my period come.
eventually i did get pregnant and now i have a beautiful 5 month old daughter.

Have you and your husband had any fertility testing done? Fertility certainly does drop in your thirties, but typically you should still be able to conceive for several more years.

Have you tried antibiotics to see if you or your husband have a hidden infection? This is the most common cause of infertility!
