The same way we get past all those we've loved and lost....lots and lots of time. To remember my dad, I try to do something he loved. Eventually the bite gets a little duller, but the memories do get sweeter.

I don't think it would be possible to get through the day without being sad. Your child was the most precious person in the world to you and I am sure you have a hole in your heart that is huge. I believe you have the right to be sad not only on the birthday, but everyday for as long as you need. Find small things that bring joy to you and try to celebrate life each day to help you make it through. I will pray for peace for you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost a daughter at birth...12/20/92. Of course I get sad but she would have had developmental issues so every year around that time, I just think of my angel being healthy floating in Heaven.

I don't have children but I know people who have had kids who either died from illnees or were killed in accidents. I don't think you ever forget , it's always an ache in your heart when birthdays and Christmases or holidays come around. However my friends set up memorial scholarships in their kids' names and they have said that helps to see their children's peers go on and become successful in the world. They know their child would be proud to have helped someone succeed like that.
And remember , one day you will be reunited .

I'm sorry for your loss. You never get over it, so on that special day think about all the fun and happy times you had with your child. Hope this brings a smile to your face :)

I am truly sorry for such a loss you have endured , it's OK to let your feelings flow and mourn this day .
From a prospective of eternity and our extremely short time here on earth , I have chosen to believe by the time our loved one is in heaven they need only turn around to find us reaching out for them once again and for always , god bless .

i dont think you can get past the birthdays without feeling at least a lil bit sad. just believe that it will be a lil less sad next year, and the year after and so on.

You remember the gift you were given of them in the first place. While you naturally grieve, look at your family and embrace the gift of their lives and sheer existence.
I would light a candle and wish them peace and healing for my heart. I am so sorry you have been through such a painful loss but I am proud of you for living through it.

I think it is impossible to not be sad at these times, beacause all the memories start flowing back, all the good times.
Just remember they want you to be happy and they will always be there at heart.
*hugs* hope you are ok
