Some of my favorite scores are: Edward Scissorhands, Requiem for a Dream, The Crow, Gladiator, Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans, Blade Runner, Queen of the Damned (gorgeous violin sequences). Basically most scores done by Danny Elfman, Clint Mansell, Vangellis, or John Williams.

I love musicals film or theatre, my favourites Singin in the Rain and Grease. In the theatre Les Miserables and the two I have mentioned.
As a youngster we had one music teacher I will always remember she taught us all the songs from all the musicals at the time so sit me in front of Oliver, Sound of Music and a few others and I know every song and tune in them.
What about asking your pupils and getting some of their input what would they like to learn, themed lessons etc, I love music and its a great leveller of people.
If you get it right your pupils will remember you for years to come and its a very rare occassion that happens !!

Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange," with its synthesizer versions of Beethoven and Rosinni.
Kubrick's "The Shining," which features Bartok's eerie "Music for Strings, Percussion & Celesta."
Harry Manfredini's "Friday The 13th" score, which is strikingly original as well as nightmarish.
