"If we find our government in all its branches rushing headlong... into the arms of monarchy, if we find them violating our dearest rights, the trial by jury, the freedom of the press, the freedom of opinion, civil or religious, or opening on our peace of mind or personal safety the sluices of terrorism, if we see them raising standing armies, when the absence of all other danger points to these as the sole objects on which they are to be employed, then indeed let us withdraw and call the nation to its tents. But while our functionaries are wise, and honest, and vigilant, let us move compactly under their guidance, and we have nothing to fear. Things may here and there go a little wrong. It is not in their power to prevent it. But all will be right in the end, though not perhaps by the shortest means." --Thomas Jefferson to William Duane, 1811. ME 13:29

Are you kidding? We could go a long way toward solving the energy crisis by hooking the remains of the Founders up to generators and piping in Bush Speeches. We could power most of the Eastern Seaboard with the energy generated by the energy generated by them spinning in their graves.

Add:

Dangerously concentrating power in the Executive branch.

Using "Faith Based Initiatives" to plow the taxpayers money into churches, thus violating the separation of church and state.

Selling vital National Security assets, such as ports, to potentially hostile Foreign governments. And supporting the outsourcing of key Defense industries.

Yes, I believe all of our Founding Fathers would be horrified and disappointed, but probably not very surprised. I also imagine that Barry Goldwater, "the godfather of conservatism", would be mortified and renounce 'his' Republican party to be a Libertarian!

To add to the laundry list:
1. Failure to ensure the laws are faithfully executed according to Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution
-- use of signing statements as a de facto line-item-veto
-- ignoring Geneva Convention and UN Charter (re: illegal war and torture), ratified and thus law under Article VI of the Constitution
2. Failure to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution according to Article I, Section 1 of the Constitution
-- Non-Cooperation With Congress
-- Establishment of an Unconstitutional, Parallel Legal System

Although the case won't ever go to court, given Libby's commuted sentence and denial of Valerie Plame's civil suit, I still believe it's TREASON to leak CIA agents' identity!

I believe Thomas Jefferson would consider him a dictator. What kind of president goes against an overwhelming majority--only less then 30% of Americans agree with his performance. This president has dissolved almost every international credibility that we had, and instead has created long lasting enemies. His administration has placed more top secret documents then another other president at a given time.

He'd probably be too busy trying to claw his way out of his grave to worry about Bush.

Then he'd wonder where the heck all his slaves went.

Its Ironic that the Republicans who are avid advocates of gun rights, do not realize that this was done to free us from a tyrannical government , the very one we presently have.

He would be ashamed at how much we have let powerful special interests dictate what goes on in this country.
