I wouldn't think a pictus would eat any barbs, nor would I think the barbs would be aggressive towards the pictus.

I have never had problems with pictus cats, but that is not to say that it couldn't happen. Larger pictus species like pictus scaides are very aggressive hunters. I think that as long as the tank is well fed and there is plenty of room for swimming, then you won't have any problems. Buy some small tiger barbs, put them in a 10 gallon with pictus cats and never feed them and they might end up on the menu.

Quite possibly. A pictus cat is a hunter and will eat any fish it can catch that will fit in it's mouth. At adult size of around 6" that could include all but the very largest tiger barbs. I wouldn't trust one with the typical 1.5 - 2" tiger barbs you typically see labeled "large" tiger barbs, much less any smaller.

No i wouldnt think so, Pictus cats only get to 5inch and barbs are fast swimmers and probibly wouldnt fit in the pictus catfish's mouth. It should be fine,

Good luck
