I always assume that everyone is an unscrupulous, untrustworthy, uneducated, unprincipled boob.

That way, if it turns out they happen to have a sliver of trustworthiness, or more than two brain cells to rub together, I'm pleasantly surprised. If I'm right, then at least I have the satisfaction of an accurate expectation.

/not really, but sometimes it seems that a cynical, jaded worldview might be more realistic

Never put that much faith in a human being. They let you down everytime, because they are human. Yes, I have done it too. I have had expectations that have been dashed and hopes that have been trashed and a heart thats been smashed...I get frustrated when someone tries to help me now. I want to do it all on my own so that I OWE NO ONE!

Yes, I have been an horrible judge of character in the past. I have let everyone I have ever come in contact with walk on me, screw me over, or inflict pain upon me. I have become a loner and each day I am prefering that more so.

Nah. My parents though I was a screw up from the beginning. Wouldn't want to prove them wrong now.

Absolutely! I run into this all the time. I am so trusting that it is quite easy to fool me into believing things I shouldn't.
