If the price of cigarettes was increased to $30 a pack would you continue to smoke? What price would it take to make you quit? Higher or lower?

The reason I asked is because my mom is a smoker. She said that if the price was too much for her to afford with her salary she would definitely quit. She wants the price to go up so she'll have to. I wanted to know if this would apply to others as well, and how much.

I really want to quit.
The price here in Kentucky is increasing...
I can still find them for $3.25 a pack at most places...
FYI- Ky's #1 cash crop was tobacco for many years. Now, it is diminishing , as most of the tobacco is shipped in from other countries.
They are getting tough on smokers rights here... as far as taking much of them away!... No smoking in most restaurants and other community places.

As far as the price....
If they go up anymore, I must quit, or not buy anymore gas!
and I think I need to drive much more than kill myself with cancer sticks!

It would not take me any price, even if it were a hundred dollars i would still pay for them. People need to smoke to relieve stress.

if cigarettes were $30 a pack, I'd start growing Tobacco in my back yard.

But that's awfully magnanimous of you to want us all to quit.
How precious.
