We all know that secondhand smoke is bad for you, but what about walking into a room where someone was smoking a few hours earlier. Is the stale smoke smell just as dangerous to inhale as the burning smoke?

Thw American Cancer Society says that second hand smoke lingers in the air. It doesn't specify how long. But the hazardous chemicals in the smoke settles on clothing, furniture and even skin. I think it would be safe to assume that when disturbed and introduced to the air again these chemicals are dangerous to those breathing them in.

It's better to be in that room than stuck in rush hour on the interstate behind SUV's, Diesel Trucks, and other polluters. For every 20 minutes stuck in traffic that's standing still ... well, it's equivalent to smoking 7 cigarettes yourself.

If the smoke is there, its just as dangerous.

Wouldn't be surprised if the burning smoke was worse.

i belive yes.. any kind of contact you have with smoke will affect your body.... its not going to be bad if it happens once in a while, like months apart but everyday is not very good
