Sure they are. Ichiro puts them in contention this year, what with the team doing well. It's uphill, but they are far from out of it. There are more than two months left to play. Patience.

The M's will be in the race (mathematically) as long as they keep up their current pace. They will be hard pressed to win the wild card against whoever loses the AL Central (Minnesota or Cleveland are both playing good ball) and the Yanks still might be in the mix if they can pick up a trade and play consistent ball. I really don't see them taking the division from LA and No Way will they make it to the series.

They have to be considered a contender and they are playing well right now. To make the playoffs they will have to finish ahead of the Angles or go in as a wild card. It might turn out to be an easier task to beat the Angles than go as a wild card. I hope they make it, I would love to see Ichiro in the playoffs.

Shure , with players like Ichiro in the leadoff spot getting 2 or 3 hits every game and athey have a strong pitching rotation so id say yes they are a serious playoff contendor.

I like the Mariners. Ichiro can carry them. Sexson is what hurting. You need that big boy whacking the ball outta the park. I see them as a great team with potential. They need to win the division and make the other teams come to them. That's not going to be easy, but, can be done. Will they go? maturity is the key. Just like the Cavaliers, If you haven't tasted it, you don't know what to expect.

As an Angels fan, I hope not. But right now they look like the best team in the league. If they keep up the way they are going, they might run away with it.

They can be-but they'll need "all hands on deck" to do so. That means-even at this late date-Sexson and Ibanez are going to have to hit like they're capable of. The other guys cant be pulling their weight for them all season; they have to step it up.
